I took the bio down cause there wasn't much in it and i'm gunna write a better one sometime, so here's a whole bunch of useless information.
The Name:
First off, I'll explain the name. I, Kyle, was working up at Fiato's Apple Orchard in September or October of 2001 and I was hanging out with co-worker/friend, Dikey Me (heh, you can be really lazy when there's very little supervision but if effects the amount of money you get paid when you work there). Anyways, I was hanging out with Dikey me and off somewhere we heard a family that was picking apples. A kid asked the mother what kind of apples they were picking and she replies "McCounie McCounie McCounie"! It was funny but you had to be there. Well we were looking for a band name and I brought up the name "The McCoonies" and we went with it. Yes, i know it's spelled McCoun, but McCoonie is way more hardcore, so of course we had to do the punkest thing we could do. We could be The McKoonies, but that's too h(A)rdKore for us. We were originally going to be called "The Bible Club" but we're not.
Equipment:
Kris: Kris has gone through about 4 guitars. His first was a Kay strat copy that was a piece of shit. He bought it from fat kyle for $80, Kris only ended up giving Kyle $30 or so. Kris ended up selling it for $30. Then Kris got a White Rogue Fat Strat guitar from Musicians friend for $100. Kris ended up smashing this guitar at a Lightweight Samurais show after it was hidden away in his stepdad's basement for a year or so. Then in the summer of 2001 Kris got a Black Aslin Dane Les Paul copy from a sale at www.interpunk.com. This guitar served him well and he played every Lightweight Samurais show with it. It was a pretty good guitar, but he wanted an SG, so...... In August of 2002 Kris got a White Samick SG copy from ebay that he currently uses. He doesn't stick to a certain kind of strings, but he usually uses GHS boomers or Ernie Ball strings. He also usually uses Dunlop picks. He also has a $99 Takamine acoustic guitar that came from musicians friend that his aunt got him for christmas. and now onto the amps.... Back in the days of the Kay guitar, Kris used a Fender Mini-twin, which had like 1 watt and 2 3 inch speakers. It was quite pathetic next to Kyle's 8'' Fender combo. but a half a year later he got the same amp Kyle had (except Kris's had reverb) for his birthday. It was a Fender Frontman 8" combo, it was like 20 watts or something. Then when the band thing was taken seriously he traded the Fender to his unlce for a Sunn 12" 120 watt combo amp that Kris used until January 2002. Then Kris bought an old Peavey 412 cab from Ryan (saving fate's guitarist) for $125. It's the biggest 412 cab ever. for a month Kris borrowed heads from people when he played live, then in april he got a 1978 Peavey solid state head from ebay for $110. Kris also has a DOD petal, a Rogue equalizer that doesn't work, and a Radio Shack Mike and stand.
Kyle: Kyle started off taking guitar lessons in 1996 with a Peavey (most Likely) sunburst strat copy and a Park amp where the logo was worn to make it say "Pork". Kyle had a short attention span back then (and still does) and couldn't make it through lessons so his rental equipment went back to the store. a year later his dad got him a Kay strat copy (later to be sold to Kris) and a Fender Frontman amp (later to be sold back to Music City) for his 6th grade graduation. After a few years Kyle finally realized that he sucked at guitar, so the only other option was bass. He started taking bass lessons with a Peavey bass he rented and he played through his Fender amp. The peavey had a weird body shape with a rosewood fingerboard, a weird shaped body, a precision bass-esq pick gaurd and jazz bass pickups. after 2 months or so that went back to the store when Kyle's dad got him a Squier bass from Muscian's friend. It's got a jazz bass neck with a rosewood fingerboard, p and j bass pickups, a jazz bridge, and a precision bass body in British Racing Green. He used another bass for a while but then went back to this bass for The McCoonies. He doesn't use the Jazz bass pickup though, he only plays off the Precision bass pickup. after a year and a half of this bass Kyle got a red Aslin Dane ernie ball copy from ebay in August 2001. It was an ok bass, but the Squier was more reliable. Kyle used the Aslin Dane on the Lightweight Samurais recordings and played most of the LWS shows with it. He then went back to the Squier for the McCoonies! because it sounds better with this band than the Aslin Dane would sound. Kyle likes to use Ernie Ball Super Slinky bass strings (.45-.100) with yellow dunlop picks. Kyle also has a Squier PA for band practice along with a Radio shack mike and stand. Kyle started off on a Fender 8" combo amp. He used it from June 1998-July 2000 and then it was sold back to Music City for $30. The next step up was a Fender Bassman 100 combo amp that has a 15" speaker, 100 watts, and a tweeter. Kyle used that amp from July 2000-March 2002. Kyle got an Ampeg B2-r head in January 2002 and didn't get to use it much until March 2002, when he got a Fender Bassman 410 cab. that nice little bass half stack served him well until July 2002 when Kyle bought a Fender BXR 115 cab from Kevin Kober of All Immune, now the 410, 115, and ampeg serve him well as a nice stack. That's about it.
Pete Egan: Pete played Keyboard for a long time (and it shows on the recording of the song Katrina Needs Therapy). He played drums in the elementary school band for a while and one christmas (i think it was 1997) his parents bought him a drum set. The drum set he got, and still uses now, it a greenish blue Thunder (a divison of Pearl) 5 piece set and is now covered in stickers. He also has Camber hi-hat, ride, and crash cymbols. Pete has a whole bunch of other stuff at home like a shure mike, a Tascam porta studio, and a whole bunch of other shit.

Kris Kovitch |

|
Kristofer Allen Kovitch was born in September of 1986. He plays the guitar. His equipment includes an Aslin Dane Les Paul Copy (soon to be sold on ebay, damn him), A white Samick SG copy, a 1978 Peavey head, and a 1982 Peavey 412 cab (it's the biggest 412 cab EVER!). Anyways, he enjoys his girlfriend and old people. He likes listening to music. One of his amazing abilities is that he can sound a lot like the guy from Saves The Day, but he never uses that voice in this band (thank God. yup, that's right, GOD!)
Kyle McCoonie |

|
Kyle McCoonie is fat, jobless, and lives with his parents. Born in the morning of July 17th 1986, Kyle McCoonie immediately picked up a bass and started rocking out. of corse he sucked, but he's gotten somewhat better. In this band (Kyle used a different bass in the Lightweight Samurais) Kyle uses a Squier P-Bass Special through an Ampeg B2-r head and a Fender Bassman 410 cab and a Fender BXR 115 cab. Kyle enjoys TV, the internet (although it's hard to enjoy with a gateway computer and AOL), Screeching Weasel, Green Day, Enemy You, The Lillingtons, Screeching Weasel rip-off bands, and more punk rock. Kyle also fell down the stairs in his walker as a child so don't get upset over the mild retardedness. Kyle also has the amazing ability to have a very sweaty ass.
Pete Egan |

Hi, I'm Pete Egan. I was born in Binghamton, New York on September 4, 1985. I share my birthday with George Hurley, the drummer of the Minutemen, who are lot better than us so go buy one of their albums. I am a shy, quiet person but I try my hardest to gain enough confidence to make jokes, usually at the expense of others. Insecure about girls and myself, I became intent on starting a band the Walking Undead, which started in January 2000. [Kyle G actually gave us the name]. Although the WU still gets together every now and then, I am now dividing half of my time and energy to The McCoonies. Although I play drums in this band I've played piano/keyboards for even longer, something like 8 or 9 years. I think that my modus operandi being that anything is up for grabs musically' is what brought me into this band. My ego has been difficult to get along with, but I try to make a conscious attempt at being friendly. Influenced by Ash, Beach Boys, Beatles, Chick Corea, Miles Davis, Descendents, Dillinger Four. Fugazi, Husker Du, Mahavishnu Orchestra, the Pixies, and Yes. While I also enjoy baseball, tennis, riding bikes, and doing radio (my shows are on the college station WHRW 90.5 FM Binghamton) music has always remained my first love. It's been a pleasure to play music over the years and I hope to continue to do so in the distant future.
